John and Donna Goselin with Nancy and Warren Scholl congratulating Warren as a recipient of the Men of Distinction award given by the Women's Center of Southeastern CT.
Warren P. Scholl
Warren P. Scholl is not your typical CEO. Yes he's focused on the running of CorePlus Federal Credit Union, it's more than doubled in size in the seven years he's been here and he's involved in community and civic groups and he serves on the board of directors for other businesses and non-profits.
He and his wife Nancy have raised a son, Douglas, and a daughter, Karen, in Danielson where Warren is also involved in the local community as a citizen. But it is the other side of Warren that makes him distinct. He's comfortable being called Warren and letting his managers and supervisors make the decisions they need to make but when his experience and expertise are needed there's no mistaking who is in charge.
He's deeply caring, although he often tries to obscure this side of himself, not that he can't be passionate about the things that mean the most to him. His caring for his employees was evident when he asked the Board of Directors to approve an across the board “gas price increase” pay raise because he was worried about how family budgets were being affected. His caring for the credit union's members shows up in things like an anniversary certificate that only required $700 deposit to earn 7%. His caring for people drives nearly every community involvement that the credit union participates in whether it's a challenge to other businesses for diabetes or donating to breast cancer for every defender homerun.
Of course, 270 words that hardly begin to say it all but if you've met Warren you already know that he's a committed, involved caring Man of Distinction!
Thank you Warren for all you do, THE COREPLUS FAMILY
